All Concepts Of “Since” In Different Contexts In Hindi

In this blog, we’ll not only learn all concepts of “Since” but also a lot of examples of it in different contexts that too would be in Hindi. Lemme highlight some of the keys which would be covered are as follow; Since (से) – Point of time, Ever since (“उस समय से”), Since then (तब से), Ever since then/Since then till now (तब से लेकर आज तक), Since when -(“कब से”) we’re reading since meaning in Hindi

Since

Definition of “Since”
Since (से) – Point of time के ठीक पहले (Perfect Tense /Perfect Continuous Tense में)
E.g.-
She has known me since February. (वह मुझे फरवरी से जानती है।)
I’ve been reading since morning. (में सुबह से पढ़ रहा हूं।)
He’s been playing since 9 o’clock.वह बजे से खेल रहा है।

He’s been preparing for the government job since 2017.(वह 2017 से सरकारी नौकरी की तैयारी कर रहा है)

(a).Since 3 AM/ 4 PM/ 9 o’clock
(b).Since 2017/2018/1996,…
(c).Since Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday…..
(d).Since morning/evening/afternoon/night
(e).Since yesterday/day before yesterday
(f).Since childhood/Since birth…

Ever since (“उस समय से”)

Definition of “Ever since”
:यह एक adverb of time है जो लगातार या अक्सर पिछले समय से अब तक के sense में use होता है।

(यहां “Ever since” का मतलब “उस समय से” है।)
E.g.
We both started this business in 2017 and have been working on it ever since.
(हम दोनों ने 2017 में यह बिजनेस शुरू किया था और तब से इस पर काम कर रहे हैं।)
यहां “Ever since” का मतलब 2017 से अब तक है।

Both of us became friend 3 years ago and have been in a relationship ever since.(हम दोनों 3 साल पहले दोस्त बने थे और तभी से रिलेशनशिप में हैं।)

Since then (तब से)

Definition of “Since then”
: यह भी एक adverb of time है जो किसी निश्चित समय के भीतर के sense में use होता है।
E.g.
I’ve started running an institute for spoken English and grown a lot since then.(मैंने पिछले साल स्पोकन इंग्लिश के लिए एक संस्थान चलाना शुरू किया और तब से काफी आगे बढ़ गया हूं।)

She dumped me due to not getting a government job and haven’t talked to each other since then.(सरकारी नौकरी न मिलने के कारण उसने मुझे छोड़ दिया और तब से एक-दूसरे से बात नहीं हुई है।)

The interview was over in the evening and since then it’s raining cats and dogs.(शाम को इंटरव्यू खत्म हो गया था और तभी से मूसलाधार बारिश हो रही है।)

There was a riot happend 20 years ago in this village and since then the place has changed a lot.(इस गांव में 20 साल पहले एक दंगा हुआ था और तब से यह जगह काफी बदल गई है।)

[Note:- Ever since और Since then को काफ़ी cases में Interchangeably use किया जा सकता है from then on का different context में use किया जाता है। ]

Ever since then/Since then till now (तब से लेकर आज तक)

Ever since then I’ve been a great admirer of his work.(तब से लेकर आज तक मैं उनके काम का बहुत बड़ा प्रशंसक रहा हूं।)

Or,

Since then till now I’ve been a great admirer of his work.
(तब से लेकर आज तक मैं उनके काम का बहुत बड़ा प्रशंसक रहा हूं।)

Since when ( “कब से?”)

Definition of ” Since when”
: किसी ने जो कहा या किया है उसके बारे में आश्चर्यचकित और अक्सर गुस्सा, नाराज, या संदेह होना के sense में ” Since when” का use किया जाता है जिसका Hindi meaning “कब से” होता है।

“I speak English fluently.” “Since when?” (“मै धाराप्रवाह से अंग्रेजी बोलता हूँ।” “कब से?”)

“I’m not a non-vegetarian so please do not ask me to have it.” “Since when are you a vegetarian?” (“मैं मांसाहारी नहीं हूं इसलिए कृपया मुझे इसे खाने के लिए न कहें।” “आप कब से शाकाहारी हैं?”

“I’ve purchased an iPhone.” “Since when have you started spending money, man?” (“मैंने एक आईफोन खरीदा है।” “कब से तुमने पैसा खर्च करना शुरू कर दिया,यार?”)

For/As/Because/Since (क्योंकी,चूंकि)

Conjunctions के तौर पर भी वाक्यों में “क्योंकी या चूंकि” के sense में इन चारों में से किसी भी एक का प्रयोग कर सकते हैं पर एक important point यह है कि “क्योंकी या चूंकि” के लिए Because केवल वाक्य के बीच में होता है और since का प्रयोग केवल वाक्य के Starting में होता है।
E.g.
Since/As/For my mother was sick. Therefore, I couldn’t come. (क्योंकि/चूंकि मेरी मां बीमार थी इसलिए में नही आ सका।)
I couldn’t come because/as my mother was sick.(में नही आ सका क्योंकि/चूंकि मेरी मां बीमार थी )
Or
I couldn’t come, for my mother was sick.(में नही आ सका क्योंकि/चूंकि मेरी मां बीमार थी)

[Note:-इस case में for के पहले comma (,) का use अनिवार्य है।]
