use of Instead of as a preposition

Instead of और Rather than का हिंदी अर्थ के बदले/के जगह/ के स्थान पर ही होता है।

(लेकिन Rather than के पहले वाला verb जिस form में हो उसके बाद वाला verb का form भी वही होगा।)

I was sleeping rather than doing that important work

(मैं उस महत्वपूर्ण काम को करने के बजाय सो रहा था)

 

If I had my way I would be sleeping rather than studying

अगर मेरा बस चले तो मैं पढ़ाई करने के बजाय सो जाऊँ।

instead of + verb + -ing

(Instead of के तुरंत बाद अगर verb आए तो verb का -ing form बाद में अवश्य लगाएं।

(E.g- instead of going, instead of reading, instead of playing, instead of studying, etc…)
