Until/till :तक (समय के साथ)

Until एक conjunction है। यह मुख्य रूप से समय के साथ use किया जाता है।
यह वाक्यों में यह परिभाषित करने के लिए भी प्रयोग किया जाता है कि कोई चीज या कोई situation कितनी देर तक घटीत हुई। until को preposition के रूप में भी इस्तेमाल किया जा सकता है।
For E.g.

• I was there until/till 2006.(मैं 2006 तक वहां था।)
• I was there until/till the Holi.(मैं होली तक वहां था।)
• I was there until/till February.(मैं फ़रवरी तक वहां था।)
• I lived in Delhi till/until 2020. ( मैं 2020 तक दिल्ली में रहता था।)

इसका अर्थ है किसी समय तक up to the time या till the time उदाहरण के लिए 8 बजे तक up to 8 o’clock या till 8 o’clock. काफ़ी समस्याओं का सामना करते हुए किसी चीज को किसी निश्चित समय तक पूरा करने के sense में भी until/till का use किया जाता है।

Derivation of Until

Until शब्द पुराने अंग्रेजी शब्द ‘END’ से निकला है, जिसका पहली बार इस्तेमाल 13वीं सदी में किया गया था।

Until: जब तक नहीं

इसका उपयोग किसी विशेष समय (particular time) को दिखाने के लिए किया जाता है, और इसे पहले से ही connections का negative form माना जाता है, Not का उपयोग करना अनुचित है। Not का Until के साथ उपयोग (use) करने से बचें।

यदि जब तक के साथ वाला sentence , future indefinite tense में भी हो तब भी इसे present indefinite tense के साथ ही use किया जाता है।

For E.g.

• Until I say, don’t come in.(जब तक मैं न कहूं, तू अंदर मत आना।)
• Until I say, don’t come in. (जब तक मैं न कहूंगा, तुम अंदर मत आना।)
• Until I said, he didn’t come in.(जब तक मैंने नहीं कहा,वह अंदर नहीं आया।)

Until और till का समान अर्थ होता है, जहां till का use ​​आमतौर पर बातचीत के दौरान इस्तेमाल किया जाता है न की formal writing में। formal writing में until का use किया जाता है।

Until as prepositions: up to the time or till the time.

For e.g.

• I played Cricket until evening. ( Up to evening)
• He kept talking till six o’clock.

Until or till is to be used if its starting and ending time is already known.

Until or till का उपयोग तब किया जाता है जब हम किसी ऐसी चीज के बारे में बात करते हैं जिसका starting and ending time पहले से पता हो।
For E.g.

•  played cricket from 3 PM till 5 PM.
• The train which I was to catch was cancelled from today until next week.

Until not to be used before a certain time or deadline

इसका (until) use तब नहीं किया जा सकता जब हमें नहीं पता हो की एक निश्चित समय (a certain time) या समय सीमा (deadline) से पहले क्या होगा।

• I’ll finish my work by this evening.(मैं आज शाम तक अपना काम पूरा कर लूंगा।)

यहां काम evening से पहले पूरा होने की बात हो रही है अर्थात evening मेरा deadline है ,until का use नहीं होगा।
यह conjunction के साथ-साथ proposition भी है, इसलिए इसे संज्ञा (noun) या क्रिया (verb) के रूप में उपयोग(use) नहीं किया जा सकता है।
