🕒 Day 11 – Talking About the Past (Past Simple Tense)

Welcome to Day 11

Today you will learn how to talk about the past using Past Simple Tense.

This tense helps you describe what you did yesterday, last week, or in the past.

🎯 Basic Structure (Regular Verbs)

Structure:

Subject + Verb (ed) + object

Examples:

I worked yesterday.

I visited my friend.

I watched a movie.

I completed my task.

I practiced English.

For most regular verbs → add “ed”

Work → Worked
Visit → Visited
Watch → Watched
Complete → Completed

📌 Irregular Verbs (No “ed”)

Some verbs change completely.

Go → Went

Eat → Ate

See → Saw

Come → Came

Do → Did

Examples:

I went to the office.

I ate lunch at 2 PM.

I saw my friend.

I did my homework.

🇺🇸 Pronunciation Tip

Worked

→ /wɝːkt/

Visited

→ /ˈvɪzɪtɪd/

Watched

Tip: Do not say work-ed separately.
